Live Resin Carts

Made from flash frozen fresh cannabis, so the original terpenes survive extraction. These taste like the plant they came from. More expensive, and for most customers worth it.

Distillate Carts

Highly refined and very potent, but stripped of the plant’s own aromatics. Terpenes are usually reintroduced afterwards. Consistent, strong, and affordable.

Hardware

Most of our cartridges use the common threaded fitting, so they work with standard batteries. Bring yours in if you are unsure and we will check the fit.

Live Resin Versus Distillate, Explained Plainly

This is the single most useful thing to understand before buying a cartridge, and it is the question our budtenders answer most often.

Distillate is cannabis oil refined until almost everything except the cannabinoid has been removed. The result is very potent and almost flavourless. Because the plant’s own terpenes are destroyed in the process, producers add terpenes back in afterwards, sometimes cannabis derived and sometimes not. That is why some distillate carts taste like generic fruit rather than cannabis.

Live resin takes the opposite approach. The plant is flash frozen immediately after harvest rather than dried, which preserves the volatile aromatic compounds that would otherwise be lost. Extraction then happens from that frozen material. The result is lower in raw potency than distillate but far richer in character, and it tastes recognisably like the cultivar it came from. Our full comparison of live resin versus distillate goes deeper, and our live resin page covers the other formats it comes in.

Which is better depends on what you are optimising for. If you want maximum strength per dollar, distillate. If you want the experience to taste and feel like the plant, live resin. Most customers who try both end up preferring live resin and paying the premium.

Why Customers Choose Cartridges

Discretion is the reason most often given. A cartridge produces vapour rather than smoke, which disperses faster and does not settle into fabric the way smoke does. For customers in shared housing or who simply do not want to advertise their use, that matters.

Dose control is the reason we think matters more. A single small draw from a cartridge is a genuinely small dose, and you can wait, assess, and take another. Compare that with an edible, where the decision is made once and then you wait an hour to find out whether you got it right. For anyone still learning their tolerance, that feedback loop is valuable. Our guide to microdosing covers using this deliberately.

On the health question, we would rather be straight than sell hard. Vaping avoids combustion and the products of combustion, which is a real difference from smoking. That is not the same as saying it is harmless, and the long term research is still developing. Our article on vaping versus smoking lays out what is actually known.

Getting the Most From a Cartridge

Draw gently and briefly. Cartridges are not designed for the long hard pull people apply to a joint, and overheating the coil scorches the oil and ruins the taste. Short, soft draws produce better vapour and make the cartridge last longer.

Store it upright and out of the heat. A cartridge left in a hot car will leak and the oil will degrade. Cold is nearly as bad, because thickened oil pulls poorly and can crack the cartridge. Room temperature, upright, out of direct light.

If your battery has variable voltage, start at the lowest setting. Most cartridges perform best well below the maximum, and running hot burns off the terpenes you paid for. This is especially true for live resin, where those aromatics are the entire point.

Cartridge Questions We Get at the Counter

Will my old battery fit?
Probably. Most use the same common threading. Bring it in and we will check.

Why does my cart taste burnt?
Usually voltage set too high, or drawing too hard for too long. Turn it down.

Is a cartridge stronger than flower?
Per draw, generally yes, particularly distillate. Take less than you think you need to start.

Do you sell batteries?
Yes, alongside our other accessories.
