Your First Visit to Our Bangor Dispensary
If you have never been in a dispensary before, the whole thing can feel more intimidating than it is. This page covers exactly what to bring, what happens when you walk in, and what to say so you leave with something you actually enjoy. It takes about four minutes to read and will save you money.
Maine Grown
Everything on our shelves is cultivated in Maine and tested by state licensed laboratories.
Open Seven Days
Walk in any day of the week. No appointment and no medical card required.
Adults 21 and Over
Valid government issued photo ID checked at the door, every customer, every visit.
Bring Photo ID
A valid, unexpired government issued photo ID showing you are 21 or over. Driver’s licence, state ID or passport. We check every time, for everyone, with no exceptions.
No Card Needed
We are a recreational adult use dispensary. You do not need a medical card, a referral or an appointment. Walk in during opening hours.
Bring a Payment Method
We accept cash, debit and credit. There is free parking on site and the entrance is wheelchair accessible.
What Actually Happens When You Walk In
You will be asked for ID at the door before anything else. That is a legal requirement, not a formality, and it applies regardless of how old you look. Have it out and ready.
After that you are in the retail space, where a budtender will ask what you are looking for. This is the part new customers dread and it is genuinely the easiest part. You do not need to know any terminology. Saying “this is my first time and I have no idea what I want” is a completely normal opening and we hear it every single day.
What helps us help you is knowing three things. First, what you want out of it, whether that is relaxing in the evening, being social, or something for daytime. Second, whether you want to smoke it, vape it, eat it or apply it. Third, your experience level, honestly stated. From those three answers we can narrow hundreds of options down to two or three.
Choosing a Format on Your First Visit
Format matters more for a first purchase than cultivar does, because it determines how fast things happen and how easily you can stop.
Inhaled cannabis, meaning flower, pre-rolls or vape cartridges, arrives within minutes. That fast feedback makes it far easier to take a little, wait, and decide. For a first time customer this is usually the safer starting point, and a single pre-roll is the smallest sensible commitment.
Edibles and gummies are where first timers most often go wrong. They take thirty minutes to two hours to arrive and last four to eight hours. If you start here, take 2.5mg, wait two full hours, and do not redose because nothing is happening yet. Our beginner dosing guide and article on how long edibles take to kick in are worth reading first.
Concentrates and live resin are strong and we would not recommend them for a first purchase. Topicals and CBD are at the other end, easy to try and not intoxicating in normal use.
Sensible Rules for a First Session
Start lower than you think you need. Tolerance is built, not innate, and there is no benefit to being ambitious on day one.
Do not drive. Not on the way home if you have used, and not later that evening if you have taken an edible. Effects last longer than most people expect.
Be somewhere comfortable with someone you trust, ideally with the evening free. Have water and food available. If you do overdo it, the experience is unpleasant rather than dangerous, and it passes. Sit down, hydrate, and wait.
Store everything securely at home, out of reach of children and pets. Gummies in particular look exactly like ordinary sweets.
