How Far Is Pho King From Veazie?
About five miles, and roughly eight to ten minutes in normal conditions. US Route 2 does the work. It runs along the Penobscot through Veazie as State Street heading southwest, carries you into Bangor, and the same Route 2 designation continues through the city out along Hammond Street, where we are at number 1114.
In practice you follow State Street southwest into Bangor, continue through toward the Hammond Street corridor, and we are on the right. Drivers who prefer the interstate can join I-95 and come off at Exit 182B, which serves Route 2 and Route 100 at Hammond Street and Odlin Road, but for a trip this short the surface route is almost always quicker.
Free parking on site, wheelchair accessible entrance, and an ID check at the door for everyone.

Why Veazie Residents Come to Us
Veazie has around 1,900 residents packed into roughly four square miles, making it the smallest town in Penobscot County by area. A town that size supports very little retail of any kind, so essentially all shopping happens elsewhere, and for most Veazie households that means Bangor.
Given you are coming into Bangor anyway, the relevant question is convenience. We are on the Hammond Street side, which is easy to reach and easy to park at, and we are open seven days a week. For a trip that short you can come specifically for us without it eating your evening.
The other thing we would offer is time. Because Veazie customers are close, we see a lot of people repeatedly, and that lets us actually learn what someone likes rather than guessing. Tell us what worked and what did not last time and the next recommendation gets better.
Veazie, North Bangor, and the River
Veazie has an unusual history for a town so small. Until 1853 it was not a town at all but part of Bangor, known as Ward 7 and locally as North Bangor. It separated and incorporated under its own name after Colonel Joseph Veazie, its wealthiest resident and a railroad and sawmill man, concluded that Bangor’s property taxes were more than he cared to pay.
The Penobscot River made the place. Its water power drove the sawmills that Veazie was built around, and the river still defines the town’s eastern edge. The Veazie dam, long a fixture of that stretch, was removed in 2013 as part of the Penobscot River Restoration Project, opening the river for Atlantic salmon to move upstream again. It is a small town with a genuinely outsized story, and a five minute drive from our door.
What Veazie Customers Buy
Veazie customers tend to buy in smaller, more frequent amounts, which makes sense when the shop is ten minutes away and there is no need to stock up. Pre-rolls and modest amounts of flower are the common basket.
We also see strong interest in vape cartridges for their discretion in close quarters, and in CBD and topicals among customers who want the plant without intoxication. Whether you want indica, sativa or a hybrid, ask and we will tell you what actually came in this week. Our guides to terpenes and why effects vary between people are useful background.

Getting Here From Around Veazie
Veazie packs about 1,900 residents into roughly four square miles on the west bank of the Penobscot, which makes it the smallest town in Penobscot County by area and one of the quickest runs to our counter. State Street carries US Route 2 southwest through the town and straight into Bangor, where the same route becomes Hammond Street. Whether you start near the Bangor line, up toward the Orono boundary, or along the river itself, you are following one road for almost the entire trip.
The town’s shape is worth knowing if you are new here. Veazie was Bangor’s Ward 7 until 1853 and was known locally as North Bangor, which is why the boundary between the two feels more administrative than physical. Colonel Joseph Veazie, the railroad and sawmill owner the town is named for, built much of it around water power drawn from the Penobscot. The Veazie dam that anchored that industry came out in 2013 under the Penobscot River Restoration Project, reopening the river for Atlantic salmon running upstream past town.
Drivers who prefer the highway can join Interstate 95 and come off at Exit 182B, which serves US Route 2 and Route 100 at Hammond Street and Odlin Road. For a trip this short the surface route down State Street is almost always faster. We are at 1114 Hammond Street, Suite 2, Bangor, Maine 04401, with free on site parking and a wheelchair accessible entrance.
