Why Old Town Shops With Pho King
Old Town has the University of Maine right next door in Orono, but the area’s recreational stores mostly cluster in north Bangor near the mall. We give the river towns a reason to drive a few minutes farther: a curated, rotating selection of trusted Maine craft brands, genuinely knowledgeable budtenders, and a 5.0-star reputation built across more than 300 Google reviews. We carry flower and pre-rolls from cultivators like SeaWeed Co., Firefly Organics, Rugged Roots, Highbrow, The Maine Lab, and Zero Gravity, plus concentrates including live resin, live rosin, and distillate, a full edibles lineup, vape cartridges, and CBD and CBG options.
Maine-Grown, Lab-Tested, and Compliant
Everything on our shelves is cultivated and produced in Maine and sold under Adult-Use Retail License #AMS639, regulated by the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy and tracked seed-to-sale through Metrc. Before any product is sold, it’s tested in its final form and issued a Certificate of Analysis covering THC potency, pesticides, heavy metals, molds, and mycotoxins, with edibles dosed to Maine’s 10mg-per-serving standard. For Old Town’s many first-time and occasional buyers, that testing is the difference between guessing and knowing exactly what you’re getting.
A Community Built on the Penobscot
Old Town’s identity runs along the river: the storied Old Town Canoe Company, more than a century in business; the Penobscot Nation and Indian Island just across the water, with the Penobscot Nation Museum preserving the region’s deep Wabanaki heritage; and historic St. Anne’s Church dating to the 1600s. We’ve built Pho King to fit communities like this one, an approachable, no-pressure recreational dispensary where you can ask questions, learn the difference between an indica, a sativa, and a hybrid, and discover how terpenes like myrcene and limonene shape the experience. Whether you’re heading back toward Old Town, Milford, or campus in Orono, we make the stop quick and easy.

Old Town, Indian Island, and the I-95 Corridor
Old Town occupies the northern end of Marsh Island, wrapped by the Penobscot and Stillwater Rivers, roughly thirteen miles north of our Bangor shop. The city grew out of what was called Indian Old Town, the English name for the largest Penobscot village, and the Penobscot Nation’s reservation remains on Indian Island in the river within the city limits. Old Town separated from Orono in 1840 and the two have shared a working corridor ever since.
Two interstate exits serve this stretch. Exit 197 is the Old Town interchange and Exit 193 sits just south at Orono, so whichever end of the city you start from, Interstate 95 southbound is a single uninterrupted run to Bangor with no downtown traffic in between. Come off at Exit 182B for US Route 2 and Route 100 at Hammond Street and Odlin Road. Route 2 runs the same corridor on surface roads for anyone who prefers it.
Customers crossing from the east bank should note that Milford sits directly opposite Old Town across the Penobscot, and Bradley is just downstream, so the practical route from either is over the bridge and onto the interstate here. Our Milford and Bradley pages cover those approaches. We are at 1114 Hammond Street, Suite 2, Bangor, Maine 04401, open seven days a week.
