Cannabis Dispensary Near the University of Maine
The University of Maine campus in Orono is about twenty minutes north of our Hammond Street shop, a straight run down Interstate 95. We serve a lot of customers from the Orono area, and everything on this page applies only to adults aged 21 and over.
Maine Grown
Everything on our shelves is cultivated in Maine and tested by state licensed laboratories.
Open Seven Days

Adults 21 and Over
Valid government issued photo ID checked at the door, every customer, every visit.
Strictly 21 and Over
We want to be completely unambiguous about this before anything else on the page.
Maine sets the legal age for adult use cannabis at 21. A large share of the undergraduate population at any university is under that age, and we will not sell to them. We check valid government issued photo ID for every customer on every visit, without exception and regardless of how old someone looks. There is no version of this where a 20 year old buys from us.
We also will not sell to anyone we believe is buying on behalf of someone under 21. Passing cannabis to a minor is a serious offence in Maine and it puts our licence at risk, so we take it seriously. If that describes your errand, do not make the trip.
Everything below is written for graduate students, staff, faculty and residents of the Orono area who are 21 or over.
Getting Here From Campus
The university sits on Marsh Island in Orono, roughly ten miles northeast of us. From campus, College Avenue or Stillwater Avenue take you to Interstate 95 southbound, which runs straight into Bangor with no downtown traffic to fight. Come off at Exit 182B, which serves US Route 2 and Route 100 at Hammond Street and Odlin Road. We are at 1114, with free parking on site.
It is about a twenty minute drive. Our Orono page covers the route in more detail, and if you are coming from further up the corridor our Old Town, Milford and Bradley pages cover those approaches.

Campus Rules Are Not State Rules
This trips people up, so it is worth stating plainly. Cannabis being legal in Maine does not mean it is permitted on campus.
Universities set their own policies, and institutions that receive federal funding are generally required to prohibit cannabis on their property regardless of state law. That typically covers residence halls, university buildings, campus grounds and university owned vehicles. Check your institution’s current policy directly rather than assuming, because the consequences for getting it wrong are academic rather than merely legal.
Maine also prohibits public consumption generally, and that includes streets, parks and vehicles. Legal purchase and legal consumption are two different questions, and the second one is narrower than most people assume.
Sensible Buying for the Orono Area
Our most common conversation with customers from the Orono area is about discretion and dose, in that order.
On discretion, if you live somewhere with shared walls or a landlord, smoking is the format most likely to cause a problem. Vape cartridges, gummies and tinctures produce far less smell, and tinctures in particular give you fine control over a small dose.
On dose, start lower than you think. Our guides to microdosing and building tolerance slowly cover the sensible approach, and why effects vary between people explains why a friend’s normal amount may not be yours. If you are buying for the first time, our first time guide covers what to expect.
If sleep or focus is what you are after, our indica, sativa and hybrid pages explain the differences, though the honest answer is that the specific batch matters more than the category. Ask us what is actually good this week.
