Cannabis Dispensary on the Way to Acadia
If you are driving to Acadia National Park or Bar Harbor from the west, you are very likely coming through Bangor. We are a recreational dispensary on the Hammond Street corridor, minutes from Interstate 95, and we serve a lot of visitors doing exactly that.
Maine Grown
Everything on our shelves is cultivated in Maine and tested by state licensed laboratories.
Open Seven Days
Walk in any day of the week. No appointment and no medical card required.
Adults 21 and Over
Valid government issued photo ID checked at the door, every customer, every visit.
Where We Sit on the Route
Most people heading for Mount Desert Island approach on Interstate 95 and then cut east. Bangor is the last substantial city before that turn, and Ellsworth, about forty minutes east of us, is the gateway town roughly fifteen miles from the park itself.
We are at 1114 Hammond Street, Suite 2, immediately off Exit 182B, which serves US Route 2 and Route 100 at Hammond Street and Odlin Road. That makes us a genuinely low effort stop. You come off the interstate, you are here, and you are back on the road within a few minutes. There is free parking on site.
From here the run east is Route 1A through to Ellsworth and onward. If you are staying somewhere along that stretch rather than in the park, our Bucksport and Holden pages cover the towns in between.

What Out of State Visitors Need to Know
This is the part worth reading carefully, because the rules catch people out.
You can buy here without being a Maine resident. Maine adult use cannabis is available to anyone 21 or over with a valid government issued photo ID. An out of state driving licence is fine. You do not need a medical card and you do not need to be a resident.
You cannot take it home with you. Cannabis bought in Maine must stay in Maine. Carrying it across a state line is a federal offence regardless of whether cannabis is legal where you live, and that includes driving into New Hampshire, Canada, or flying out of Bangor International. Buy what you will use here.
Acadia is federal land. The park is administered by the National Park Service, and federal law applies inside it. State legalisation does not extend onto federal property. Do not take cannabis into the park.
Do not consume in public. Maine does not permit public consumption, and that includes trailheads, beaches, parking areas and your vehicle. Check what your accommodation allows before you buy, because many hotels and rentals prohibit smoking of any kind.
What to Buy for a Trip
Visitors have different constraints from locals, so the sensible purchase looks different too.
Buy small. Whatever you do not use has to be disposed of before you leave, so there is no advantage in stocking up. A single pre-roll or the smallest edible package is usually the right call for a few days.
Consider smell and discretion. If you are staying somewhere with neighbours or shared corridors, vape cartridges, gummies or tinctures leave far less trace than smoking does. Topicals are worth a look after a long day of hiking and are not intoxicating in normal use.
Be careful with edibles if you are unfamiliar. They take thirty minutes to two hours to arrive and last four to eight hours, which is a long time to lose on a short trip. Read our beginner dosing guide and how long edibles take to kick in before you try one. Start at 2.5mg and wait two full hours.
Never drive after using. The roads around Mount Desert Island are narrow, busy in season, and not somewhere to be impaired.
Visitor Questions
Can I buy with an out of state ID?
Yes, as long as it is a valid, unexpired government issued photo ID showing you are 21 or over.
Can I bring it into Acadia?
No. The park is federal land and federal law applies there.
Can I fly home with it?
No. Do not take it to the airport.
Can I take it to Canada?
Absolutely not. Crossing an international border with cannabis carries serious consequences.
Where can I legally use it?
On private property where the owner permits it. Not in public, not in the park, not in a vehicle.
What if I have some left over?
Dispose of it before you leave the state. Do not travel with it.
