How Far Is Pho King From Holden?

Roughly six miles and about eleven minutes without traffic. US Route 1A is the spine of the trip. It runs west out of Holden into Brewer, where it meets Interstate 395 at the highway’s eastern end alongside Route 9.

From there I-395 carries you west across the Penobscot into Bangor and connects through to the Hammond Street corridor. We are at 1114, with free parking on site. If you would rather stay off the interstate entirely, Route 1A continues through Brewer and over the bridge into Bangor, which is barely slower.

Coming from the Lucerne end of town the drive is a few minutes longer, since Holden stretches a fair distance along the ridge. Either way, have your photo ID ready. We check every customer, every visit.

Why Holden Residents Drive to Us

Holden is a bedroom community in the truest sense. People live there and work, shop and eat somewhere else, usually Bangor or Bucksport. There is no meaningful retail strip, which means a cannabis purchase was always going to involve a drive.

Given that, eleven minutes to a full adult use shop is a good trade. We carry the complete range rather than a token selection, everything is Maine grown and tested by state licensed laboratories, and our budtenders will actually talk it through with you. For a town of commuters, we are also open seven days a week, which matters when your schedule does not line up with normal retail hours.

Holden customers are frequently combining the trip with something else in Bangor. Being on the Hammond Street side means you can get in and out without crossing the city.

Holden, Brewer Lake, and the Lucerne Ridge

Holden covers ground that runs from Brewer Lake up to the Lucerne ridgeline it shares with Dedham, which gives a town of its size an unusual amount of variety. Brewer Lake and nearby Fields Pond carry the summer trade for boating and paddling, and the same water draws skaters once it freezes.

Between the lake and the ridge, the town keeps a network of local ponds, town forest and snowmobile trails that see year round use. It is a place organised around being outside and then coming home, which is reflected in the buying patterns we see from Holden customers.

The town’s other defining feature is its position on Route 1A, the road that carries traffic between Bangor and the coast. Holden sits on the way to everywhere Downeast, which is why so many residents pass our end of Bangor regularly.

What Holden Customers Buy

Holden customers buy much like the rest of the eastern ring, with a lean toward products that suit an evening at home after a commute. Indica leaning flower and pre-rolls are the steady sellers, with edibles picking up in the colder months.

Given the outdoor culture, we also move a fair number of topicals to people who spend weekends on the water or the trails, and vape cartridges to those who want something portable. If you are choosing between formats, our guide to how consumption methods affect the experience is a useful starting point, and how to choose the perfect strain covers narrowing the shelf down.

Holden, Route 1A, and the Lakes

Holden stretches from Brewer Lake up to the Lucerne ridgeline it shares with Dedham, which gives a town of its size an unusual range of terrain. Brewer Lake and nearby Fields Pond carry the summer boating and paddling traffic and turn into skating ice once the season changes, and the town keeps a network of local ponds, town forest and snowmobile trails in use year round.

US Route 1A is the spine of the town and the road that gets you to us. It runs west out of Holden into Brewer, where it meets the eastern end of Interstate 395 alongside Route 9. From there I-395 crosses the Penobscot into Bangor and connects through to the Hammond Street corridor. If you would rather avoid the interstate, Route 1A continues through Brewer and over the bridge, which costs only a minute or two.

Holden’s position on Route 1A is the reason so many residents pass our end of Bangor already: this is the road between the city and the coast, and Ellsworth and Acadia traffic runs through it all summer. If Bangor is on your route anyway, we are eleven minutes away at 1114 Hammond Street, Suite 2, Bangor, Maine 04401.

Background reading that pairs well with an outdoor weekend: how consumption methods affect the experience, potential health benefits of cannabis, why strains smell different and building tolerance slowly.
