Recreational Pot Prices Drop in Maine

Prices for getting high for fun are going down.

According to the Portland Press Herald, the average price for flower, or bud, in the recreational cannabis market dropped by about 40-percent in just the last two years.

While it means lower prices for users, it could mean trouble for cultivators who have a stash of unsold product.

When the recreational pot market opened in October 2020, it cost a little less than $16 per gram on average. The Press Herald reports it is currently less than $9.50.

Product saturation could get worse with more than 100 additional cultivation sites and 160 stores in the works.
